Surrender

A meditation on releasing control, trusting the flow of life, and allowing what can no longer be forced to move through us.

Behind the Painting

The story behind the work

Surrender speaks to the moment when control stops helping and trust becomes the next step. The waterfall suggests a limitless movement of consciousness: flowing around rocks, carrying what is ready to move, and supporting the release of beliefs and attachments that keep us stuck. Rather than defeat, the painting frames surrender as a living practice — a softening, an exhale, and a willingness to be carried.

Two Perspectives

In Stephanie and Grant’s words

Stephanie Clair

This work connects to the many times life has moved differently than I expected. It reminds me to throw the fixed destination out the window, soften into the unknown, and allow the ride itself to become part of the teaching.

Grant Pecoff

The endless waterfall expresses trust for me — the feeling of being carried rather than forcing a way forward. It reminds me that letting go is not a single moment, but an ongoing practice of loosening the grip and allowing life to move through.
